[Reno, Nevada-based] Rising talent, Liu Kang delivers seismic sound in fresh bass release ‘New Era‘, blending dubstep with hard techno, a surefire recipe for dancefloor domination. Garnering three distinct drops, all being bewildering, yet more mesmerizingly menacing than the last.

“I think I was able to really let myself go all in creatively, and that’s a very freeing feeling,”
– LIU KANG

Throughout ‘New Era‘ and its impressive 3:46 runtime, listeners will be sent into a barrage of textured basslines, syncopated drum patterns, and experience a cinematic approach to contemporary dubstep.

Of those three distinct drops, the first hovers around the one-minute mark, being a classic dubstep drop peppered with a build-up that sets the groundwork for the rest of the track.

As we slither our way inward and upward through the track, his second drop is a fast-action upgrade of the first drop with a faster tempo, and much more bone-shattering effects that provide a heightened sense of sonic deployment.

The last section to bridge this song’s diverse genre-shifting is the third and final drop – the hard techno outro that fades in around the 2:22 minute mark and doesn’t let go with its ultra-riveting grip until the song’s end.

While ‘New Era‘ could be classified within any of the three (sub)genres, its seamless fusion – driven by a natural crescendo of dissonance – ultimately becomes a masterclass in hybridization – pairing styles that arguably should not go together, yet work remarkably well.

Fresh off the heels of his latest originals – Incredible, Waffles & Pancakes, along with a slew of flips, bootlegs, and standout performances such as his wildly successful support slot playing with Subtronics at Daer Dayclub Afterdark in Florida this past December (2025).

Throughout 2025, LIU KANG has firmly etched his sound, name, and brand vision into the minds of the masses.

With his current rise and trajectory showing a meteorically bullish upward trend, we can safely assume that this is just the beginning for LIU KANG and the dawn of a ‘New Era‘.

Check out how LIU KANG made ‘New Era’ – on Instagram

LIU KANG: ‘New Era‘ was one of the first tracks I ever started when I began producing dubstep. It blends my two favorite worlds: heavy-hitting bass music and hard techno.

“I think one of the reasons why I’m so excited about this one in particular is because of how many different directions the song takes you. I think I was able to really let myself go all in creatively, and that’s a very freeing feeling.

LIU KANG:I still remember finishing the first version of this tune in late 2023, thinking it was the best thing I’d ever made, only to completely rebuild it from the ground up.

Revisiting this track also helped show me just how much I’ve really grown as a producer.

LIU KANG: “I’ve got lots coming in 2026, including an EP and some collaborations that are seriously going to knock your socks off.

There’s also something huge happening later this year that I haven’t announced yet… so stay locked in!”
