Rage-Bot pays tribute to Skrillex in ‘Rockin N Rollin’ single, w/ color-bass house homage [Monsoon Season Review]

Rage-Bot | Denver, CO

Denver’s Rage-Bot gives tribute to a legend in new single – ‘Rockin N’ Rollin‘ sampling Skrillex in textbook fashion.

Rage-Bot takes us to the mountain, and by that we aren’t referring to his Rocky Mountain-peaked backyard or even Colorado at all. We are of course, refering to Skrillex‘s 2010 hit single ‘Rock n’ Roll (Will Take You To The Mountain)‘ from the larger-than-life EP; Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites.

Fresh off the release of his latest robot rager single ‘Only One‘ featured on BASSCVLT‘s fourth annual compilation album “Break Necks Not Hearts” – and his headlining performance in Colombus, Ohio for RageQuit, a video game themed rave; Rage-Bot is primed and ready for his next release with ‘Rockin N’ Rollin’.

Memorably nostalgic, high-energy as expected, and those iconic looping vocals ‘hello again, to all my friends, together we can play some rock n’ roll’, – are all present, honored, and accentuated in Rage-Bot‘s proper ode to Sonny Moore, the man Skrillex himself.

Given – just about 90% of today’s music producers can easily say that either Skrillex, or his work as Dog Blood (with Boys Noize) or as Jack Ü (with Diplo) those sounds had inevitably influenced their interest in electronic dance music – so of course, a tribute is in order and respected.

What he does in his personable rendition matches the OG upbeat motif that we all know, and love of Skrillex’s ‘Rock N Roll‘ then stylized in the laser-cut prowess of Rage-Bot‘s contemporary dubstep techniques, merging the best of both worlds.

Rage-Bot tells us:

This track started when I was sampling ‘Rock n’ Roll’, testing out new techniques. I started to have so much fun with it and started to love the sound so much that I turned it into a full-on tribute track to Skrillex.

Sonny has had such an impact on me and being a music producer. Once I started making this I couldn’t stop until it was finished. I took all my knowledge that I have learned throughout the years and Incorporated all those tricks and techniques into this track. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.

The overall vibes of the song is leaning towards a melodic color bass meets bass house type-of-tone resulting in a very vibrant headbanging outcome for listeners and fans like.

Packed with cleverly placed samples that weave through the track from start to finish, the production keeps you locked into the groove, anticipating your favorite moments from the original and discovering how they’ve been reimagined in Rage-Bot fashion.

Rage-Bot does an outstanding job paying homage to the headmaster behind the catalyst of the 2010s brostep bass boom, Skrillex.

By channeling the spirit of that era while injecting his own modern twist, the track captures both nostalgia and forward-thinking energy, delivering a tribute that feels just as electrifying as it does respectful to the roots of the genre.
