Premiere: Arriel’s new trap single ‘Let Me Be’ hits the Monsoon Season platform [Exclusive Release]

LA’s best-kept secret, Arriel unveils new trap/bass single ‘Let Me Be‘ as his first release returning to music after a life-threatening stroke.

As his 5th release on our platform – Arriel gets buck-wild and gears his sound for the feral summer trap fiends w/ ‘Let Me Be

No stranger to our storm-setting and electronic dance music platform, Ryan Krasnow, or under his moniker, best known as Arriel is back and bearing one helluva trap tune to show for it, titled ‘Let Me Be‘.

Let’s talk about the music:

With ‘Let Me Be‘ blared at full volume on any speakers around you, we are re-introduced to Arriel‘s captivating ability to stun the masses with his state-of-the-art soundscapes and articulate sound design.

From start to finish – its impressive 2:40 runtime is not to be undermined as each second is used strategically and in a calculated effort.

At the 30-second mark, a wild dosage of drums is revealed (that could only be delivered by a true drummer) that follows into the first implemented vocal bits. From there on, is an all-chips-in sonic effort, and outright fun-fueled trap tune that seemingly keeps listeners locked in, ready to rage, dance, and lose themselves to the music; simply allowing the music to speak for itself and do what it does best.

These skills in sound development do not come easy and have been learned across his decade-long tenure as a music producer and this level of sound design at hand is arguably potential and profound evidence of a genius using magic (IYKYK).

Arriel summarizes his creative process as such:

“Throwing audio at the wall and seeing what sticks”

I approached this track without any direction. I was half asleep at the time, taking music production and business courses— weak but mentally dialed in. Producing it gave me something to push against and something to laugh about. Every layer had to have attitude, is what I would have said if I had any direction with this one. But really, this wasn’t a music production—it was emotional problem-solving through distortion and bass.
Arriel, regarding the creative process behind ‘Let Me Be‘.

These vocal bits may sound familiar as they are chopped-up variants of Creeds‘ hit song ‘Push Up‘ (TikTok famous), with Arriel‘s signature flare and finesse added in, creating an unmistakable whole new sound.

Let’s check with the team and see what our storm reporters – Brandon and Tate had to say about our latest Monsoon Season Exclusive release, ‘Let Me Be‘ by Arriel.

Team Writer Brandon Rafferty had this to say:

“The melodic structure and filters used are truly done in a unique way that makes it stand out among other build ups (which tend to be generic). They really help bring out the elements of the midbass when the drop kicks in.
I also find it clever and creative to add the haunting whisper-like vocals throughout the drop… adds a certain chill to the vibe.
This track manages to encapsulate all of the elements of a heavy dubstep song, yet uses melodic sounds and sound design to make it an entirely with a chill vibe throughout… minus the chilling vocals listed before.

Honestly, it reminds me of some tunes I used to love DJing at underground house parties when I first entered the scene! Truly stellar work on Arriel‘s end.”

Team Writer Tate Beumel added in on the hype:

“The styling of this tune really aligns with modern bass music movement but also takes a dive into that old school 2013 “brosteppy” sound. Nothing like a happy melody mixed with a heavy drop!
Let’s not forget the switch up on that drum flow in the latter drop. Takes you down memory lane with them vibes! Arriel comes out swingin’ with this one and we know there is more supa hot fiyah ahead!”

Earlier, we mentioned “he’s back“, and by that, we mean: Ryan suffered a massive, and life-threatening stroke in the last 18 months and has been in recovery since.

Relearning how to walk, how to talk, and to function as a contributing member of society (and to this industry) has been his main driving force to return to normalcy.

Recovering from a stroke is no easy task, and adding in the creative aspect of being not only a music producer, but a drummer, and performer is all the heavier of a task. But, he’s not giving up, nor is he giving in. He is Arriel, and he is BACK.

In Arriel‘s own words:

“At the end of 2023, I had a stroke that knocked everything sideways. Relearning how to walk and talk wasn’t part of the plan—but neither was quitting. Now, I’m deeper in the lab than ever, rebuilding, creating, and surrounding myself with weird, brilliant people. I’m writing my best shit yet and gearing up to hit the stage again with more energy, less bullshit, and the kind of perspective you only get after almost losing everything. Expect new music, unexpected collabs, and a live show that feels like therapy with lasers.”

This track is the first release I’ve put out since my stroke at the end of 2023—and it honestly feels like a reintroduction. I wanted to make something that screamed summer festival chaos. Something you’d hear at a stage, blackout to, and then wake up screaming at what you can only hope are the people you came with. It’s energetic, trappy, and loud—in the best way. It kind of takes me back but with some new shit.
