CircuitOne! debuts five all-new dubstep tunes on Cell Block via his Welcome To CircuitOne! EP.

Each track is more sinister than the last; resulting in one helluva body of bass music. He is CircuitOne!… and this is Welcome 2 CircuitOne!, the EP.

The flagship title track of the EP, ‘Welcome To CircuitOne!,’ begins with a menacing pace, drawing listeners into a captivating auditory landscape that sets an exhilarating yet ominous tone, highlighted by a vocal warning throughout the 3:02 runtime, leading to the first wave of bass near the two-minute mark.
This intense opener is followed by the fan-favorite tune ‘Down 4 Me,’ which effortlessly blends infectious rhythms with its brief yet evocative vocal bits that add contrast to the abrasive basslines. From start to finish, Down 4 Me is a knockout addition to the EP and that’s only the second song.
Next up is ‘Underbelly,’ a track that dives into darker themes with a compelling beat, providing a contrast that heightens the listening experience and encourages introspection while still maintaining the kinetic energy established early in the EP.
Following that is ‘Overdrive,’ an exhilarating piece characterized by its high-energy tempo that ignites a sense of urgency and excitement, often prompting listeners to move and headbang along to the brooding beat.
Finally, as the EP’s grand finale, ‘Deep Space‘ takes listeners on a transcendental journey, rounding out the collection with its ethereal soundscapes and intricate musical layers, giving rise to a feeling of exploration and wonder; all of which come together to comprise the entirety of the extended play.
INTERVIEW WITH: CircuitOne! – Let’s talk about Welcome 2 CircuitOne!

Q1: What inspired you to create Welcome 2 CircuitOne! (W2C)?
CircuitOne!: This EP was a big move for me as I had the freedom to build a new world, so the big inspirations came from a range of things like Star Wars pod racing and the T.V. show, Wipeout.
Q2: Can you tell us about the creative process behind the EP?
CircuitOne!: I found that being in tune with a different style of tearout that not many people have heard. I found that being as unique as possible with the creation of the songs led me down an absolute rabbit hole of pushing this new sound as far as I could, taking influences from future riddim and tearout and creating a blend with catchy melodies to get you hooked from the moment the bass hits on the drop.
Q3: How did you decide the concept for the EP?
CircuitOne!: I went back and forth with myself on how I would go about this EP but I genuinely kept coming back to the idea of an introduction to the world of CircuitOne!
Q4: Were there any specific themes or genres that influenced your music?
CircuitOne!: Yeah so the best way to explain the theme is to take Star Wars’ pod racing and mix it with Wipeout (TV) and chuck a bit of Ready Player One in there, and a little sprinkle of my old friend ‘tearout’ but if I had to pick influences; I would probably say future riddim, tearout and neo-dubstep
Q5: How did you approach incorporating darker elements that are present in your recent works like W2C?
CircuitOne!: I took major inspiration from incorporating my last alias into this story which took inspiration from the Michael Myers character and Fiddlesticks from League Of Legends so incorporating that vibe into this EP was the interesting twist I needed to have the dark side of CircuitOne.
Q6: Were there any challenges you faced while producing this EP?
CircuitOne!: Fucking way too many (laughs). Overthinking was my worst enemy but I want to shout out to Hysteric and Voltron Cicada for believing that what I had was more than good enough and they pushed me to believe in my project more. I’d say the biggest challenge was keeping it all the same style and quality across the board.
Q7: Did you experiment with any new techniques or instruments for this project?
CircuitOne!: Plenty of new techniques were used and helped me finish the ideas that I started. I would say the biggest one was the effective use of new fills and background melodies to fill out tracks and keep them interesting and catchy to the listener.

Q8: What do you hope listeners will take away from your music?
CircuitOne!: That ya boy is out here (laughs). No, I would say that for sure don’t be afraid to push yourself to new styles and try new things and try putting yourself in the shoes of being a storyteller.
Q9: Can you discuss the significance of the EP and artwork?
CircuitOne!: The artwork encapsulates the brand of CircuitOne! I can’t thank Voltron Cicada enough for absolutely slaying it and inserting himself in my brain and turning my idea into a reality, and better than what I had imagined.
Q10: Were there any particular themes you wanted to explore for the EP?
CircuitOne!: If I had to boil it down, it would be trying to explore new styles of music and trying to build a world to further expand on. I feel like I wanted to give you all a taste of the theme of what I’m trying to build.
Q11: How do you think your personal experiences influenced the creative process of your music?
CircuitOne!: I have honestly been through hell and back like six times, but the main reason behind the CircuitOne! brand is my life is a cycle of ups and downs, from angry to happy, and that comes down to me having BPD and ADHD.
So, like my life, CircuitOne! is a constant cycle of so many emotions that I go through from month to month. Whenever I was happy, I made happier dubstep; when I was angry, I would create the angriest dubstep I could imagine.
So, when I finally landed on a rebrand, I am glad I stuck with this one because unless you know the backstory, it’s just another name, but it helped me express myself in ways nothing else can.
Q12: How important is storytelling in your music, particularly in a horror context?
CircuitOne!: It’s important because it shows that CircuitOne! isn’t always in a happy place; there is a much darker side to the story than most people know yet, which I plan to tell. But at times, I kind of imagine I am a killer in a horror movie, but my music is the knife or the axe (laughs).
Q13: What roles do mood and atmosphere play in your compositions?
CircuitOne!: It can decide what style of song I’m going to make happy or sad or angry or depressed there’s a range of atmospheres and moods that can seriously alter the creation of my music
Q14: Were there any specific challenges in translating themes into the music?
CircuitOne!: Yeah, I would say that making themes fit into songs smoothly and executing them in a way that makes sense is hard, but I would honestly put it down to what theme I’m going with and how I would imagine that image to sound.
Q15: How do you think ‘Welcome 2 CircuitOne’ as a body of work fits into your overall musical journey and evolution as an artist?
CircuitOne!: This EP shows 4 years of trial and error and consistent growth and finally landing on a sound I can call my own and specifically a story of my own that no one else is doing that incorporates every alias and style from start to now in the CircuitOne! story
Q16: Lastly, what’s next for you after this release? Are there any future projects or endeavors on the near horizon?
CircuitOne!: I think I’ve found a new home for my music on Cell Block, so I’ll probably get to work on starting the actual story for CircuitOne! and giving you all the best I can.
I’ve got an absolute mountain of music that is unreleased that I’m happy with (781 songs to be exact), so I guess time will tell how I go about getting my sound out there, but I’m hopeful that the fellas at Cell Block will be keen on seeing the CircuitOne! story from start to finish.
