Hip-hop meets glitch-hop in ‘Get Down‘, BUTTONZ and Louie Letdown‘s funky proof of concept that merging soundscapes is connective to listeners of both fan bases.

Inspiration can emerge from many different walks of life, sometimes from a single, isolated moment, and other times from a deeper, lasting impact that experiences leave behind.

A live-setting concert, for example, isn’t just a night of music; it can become a catalyst for creative direction and long-term artistic vision.

For rising talent Ben Nowacki, or best known as BUTTONZ, that spark traces back to a 2018 farewell show by Pretty Lights (who later returned in 2025) at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado.

During that set, Pretty Lights‘ front-man Derek Vincent Smith delivered a live remix of Shakedown Street by The Grateful Dead – a moment that left a lasting imprint. The reinterpretation lingered in Ben‘s mind for nearly a decade, replaying as a creative reference point and his source of inspiration.

Today, in 2026, the track came to life through a collaboration with Louie Letdown, transforming a nearly ten-year-old spark into a fully realized release.

Get Down‘ is a surefire proof of concept, garnering an impressive 2:57 runtime, and cordially rocking at 100 b.p.m., providing fans and listeners with a properly packaged funky hip-hop meets glitch-hop type beat.

In its entirety, ‘Get Down‘ is a full-handed, radiant, and wildly upbeat collaborative effort with Louie Letdown, a Denver-based rapper, producer, and MC combo. Bearing the vocal and lyrical fancy footwork, Louie administers his dangerous dose of auditory attitude with an effortless textbook fashion.

No stranger to getting down, Louie Letdown is fresh off his sold-out headlining performance at Lost Lake Lounge, just under a year ago, and has been sharpening his release repertoire for 2026, and it appears he has no intention to let us down on that front.

Primed and ready to rhyme, the release of ‘Get Down‘ with BUTTONZ is just the start for these two rising talents in today’s competitive electronic music markets.
