CURATOR & Kambur team up to remix MARAUDA’s ‘Avoidable Cause’ [Track Write-Up]

Rising bass music talents CURATOR & Kambur have locked in one helluva crunchy bass-laden remix for the masses.

Monsoon Season HQ writers by day – burgeoning bass music producers/DJs by night.

Their new collaborative remix of Marauda‘s ‘Avoidable Cause is OUT NOW on SoundCloud and YouTube.

You’re going to hear it here first – the collaborative debut and premiere of CURATOR and Kambur‘s new tear-out remix of MARAUDA’sAvoidable Cause‘ is a step above wild, bewildering, and all-out chaos.

Let’s listen, and break down the tune for our readers and audience because we are going to need a viable explanation for what you have just heard.

Idaho-based CURATOR (Brandon Rafferty) and Michigan-based Kambur (Tate Beumel) are team writers here at Monsoon Season and have cooked up their first collaborative effort behind their DAWs and the results are flooring.

If treacherous tear-out tunes and dubstep bass lines are your versions of feral-filled fun, then gear up for one helluva menacing audio treat for your ears.

Kambur tells us – “When the homie Curator pitched this collab idea, I knew we had to touch back to our original roots and back to when we first met back on Facebook (he laughs).”

He goes on to say: “This project has been a long time coming, maybe not the remix itself but the idea of collaborating. I know we both rock with the “old school” dubstep era and vibe, hearing notes of that with this version of Avoidable Cause.

The Frim, miss him so much, is one of the first artists that we shared interest in and they were always one to keep the drums fresh and change them up a lot from drop to drop. I was pretty adamant about the switch up and he agreed. It has been a learning experience with producing music and forever grateful to have Curator as a mentor and friend!

This remix encapsulated the sounds of the modern and throwback eras of our journey through this music and the industry along with it! I hope you enjoy the tune as much as we did making it

The original track by MARAUDA – a staple name in extreme bass music, is already a brutal assault of sound design and emotional tension. But CURATOR and Kambur take it to another tier entirely, adding their distinct venom while still honoring the original’s dark, apocalyptic tone.

Their remix bangs with berserk bass, while it slaps with severe sound, and hits on all the marks for a violent yet controlled set of chaos that will have you yearning for more from these two.

We are introduced to the start of the remix with a tantalizing intro that builds for 40 seconds that creates a sense of calmness and orchestral tranquility before the first pre-drop vocal sample of ‘WHAT THE FUCK‘, and from there, succumbed to a riveting display of production prowess that is menacing as much as it is intimidating. The rest of the remix plays out in textbook fashion, leaving no room for mercy and for listeners to get lost in the lunacy!

CURATOR tells us – “Working with Tate (Kambur) has been a long time coming. He was the first person to ever reach out to me about my music, back under my old alias B-RAFF, shit, even before B-RAFF had officially formed. It only made sense he and I took this opportunity to make an absolute dubstep banger. No tricks, no bullshit, just pure aggressive bass music! That alongside the switch-up Tate brought for the flow of the second drop, was something straight from an early 2010s The Frim-style track, and when I heard it, I knew we had to stick with it and build off of it!

Nothing but a stellar process all around! It’s an honor to have helped him release this as his first major production credit!”

Idaho’s CURATOR is an undiscovered gem, having already worked with the likes of Gravity, Messinian, Mayor Apeshit, MagMag, and a multitude of others, CURATOR is no stranger to upper-echelon collaborative works in his repertoire.

Michigan’s Kambur is an overlooked bass music act that commands energy on stage and delivers menacing madness through the speakers of clubs, events, and festivals alike. His tenure in dance music has allowed him to play in cities like Detroit and Denver, at venues such as Elektricity Nightclub and Your Moms House in Colorado.

This remix isn’t just heavy – it’s calculated, emotional, and crafted with a sense of purpose. CURATOR and Kambur aren’t just remixing a MARAUDA track – they’re claiming their spot in the modern dubstep arena by adding their fingerprints to a genre-defining artist’s catalog.

Expect to hear this one annihilating rail-riders at festivals and warehouse sets alike. It’s up for FREE DOWNLOAD on SoundCloud, for you producers and DJs looking for that secret sound of assault.
