Emerging Austrian-born and Los Angeles-based artist and songwriter Ella Marisa makes a bold entrance into the spotlight with her newest bilingual single, To My Future Ex – a deep house meets pop fusion track drenched in raw emotion, empowerment, and radiant dancefloor energy.

The single serves as a fearless breakup anthem, flipping heartbreak into a declaration of self-worth and renewal. With shimmering synth textures, pulsing house drums, and Ella’s expressive, ethereal vocals, this track effortlessly bridges emotional vulnerability with the uplifting energy of a dance anthem.

Marisa’s vocal delivery is both wounded and powerful – telling a story of lost love and regaining control. Her lyrics speak directly to listeners who’ve been silenced in toxic relationships, now reclaiming their voice with unapologetic honesty. The chorus hits with infectious hooks, designed to echo in both your headphones and in late-night club sets.

Ella mentions to our team To My Future Ex‘ is just the beginning — my debut EP is coming soon and will be officially announced in the next few weeks. It’s a project I’ve poured my heart into, and I can’t wait to share all the little cheeky, sassy dating stories” – she goes on to say: “That idea became To My Future Ex — a deep house/pop track that blends emotion with energy. It’s honest, a little cheeky, bold, and all about reclaiming your voice.

(Co)-produced and written with L1Z, this sleek electronic polish, To My Future Ex is a glimpse into Ella Marisa’s genre-blending brilliance and sets the tone for her highly anticipated debut EP, coming soon.

It’s moody, yet liberating – a jaunt through pain that finds resolution in the beat.

Ella Marisa tells us:

To My Future Ex is one of those songs that just had to be written. I had just gone through a really tough breakup, and I sat down with my friend L1Z, who is the co-writer and co-producer of the song, and we started talking — like really talking — about how sometimes guys just don’t quite get it. Like, the basics — kindness, respect, and effort. The bare minimum was missing.

Drawing influences from the likes of Tate Mcrae, Charli XCX, and the iconic Britney Spears, Ella’s sound is tailor-made for pop lovers who crave depth and dance music fans who want story-driven lyricism.

Ella adds in her retrospective outlook on the matter:

Looking back, I realized I had felt more like someone he could present to his friends and family than someone he was really trying to build something meaningful with. And that got me thinking — what if I flipped the script and wrote a song like a breakup letter before the breakup even happens? A little heads-up to the next guy, like: “Here’s how to do better next time.”

Whether you’re nursing a heartbreak or dancing through the healing, To My Future Ex belongs on your playlists and in your headphones.

Stream it now and keep your eyes locked on Ella Marisa – 2025 is hers for the taking.
