Viskus Goes Full Wonk on New Two-Tune EP via Circus Records | plus collab w/ Xenotype

Midwest bass wizard Viskus just dropped a wild new 2-track slap pack (with no apparent name to the EP) on none other than Circus Records – yes, that Circus Records, the legendary UK bass label co-founded by Flux Pavilion and Doctor P.

For Viskus, this release marks a dream come true, finally landing on a label that’s helped shape the global dubstep scene since the early 2010s. You can practically feel the passion packed into every wub.

“These songs were inspired by a lot of the newer UKG and UK Bass-style tracks that have been hitting the United States. I combined a lot of these elements with some elements from the old-school dubstep legends that inspired me from the beginning such as Joker, Doctor P, and Flava D.”
– says Viskus

The EP kicks off with “Ice On Your Neck,” a glitchy, slime-soaked slapper loaded with detuned lasers, rubbery subs, and left-field switch-ups that keep your brain doing somersaults. It’s pure squelchy mayhem with a sense of humor – Viskus flexing his signature sound design while keeping the groove locked. This one’s for the rail riders and the weirdos alike.

Track two, “I Need To Hear It,” with Xenotype takes things even deeper into the sauce. It’s got that chonky halftime swagger, bubbling with alien textures, off-kilter percussion, and a slow-burn energy that’ll make your neck ache in the best way.
