Willdabeast + Dysphemic deploy armored audio in ‘Step Into The Club’ (Wearing Chainmail) [Monsoon Season Review]

Medieval times of medieval music, hits present day, and the results will take your head off, so wear your chainmail.

Willdabeast & Dysphemic suit up for battle, bearing bass, brass, and armor – this is their new collab:

Bass music just got a medieval makeover, and it’s wearing a mess of feudal armor and clunky chainmail.

The soon-to-be historic collaboration from Willdabeast and Dysphemic comes crashing onto the scene like a knight charging forward into battle. This is ‘Step Into The Club (Wearing Chainmail).

Released via Grand Alliance Music, the 3:55 track blends traditional dubstep, jammy bass, and instrumental grime energy into genre-bending rave anthem that feels equal parts dungeon raid and underground club banger.

“Julian [Dysphemic] mentioned he even had an old classical album out like over a decade a go and we had always wanted to go all out and really do something majestic so it was clear… we had to bring the club to the dark ages. Then we just kept it going. What if we could somehow get a photo of a dog in chain mail. Do you have any friends with chain mail? Dan somehows shows up in full fucking mdedival gear…. it got way out of hand (in all the best ways).

Willdabeast, regarding Dysphemic collab

Hear thee, hear thee. The kingdom of dubstep just got a little louder.

From the jump, the collaboration leans into the medieval-meets-rave concept. Thundering brass stabs, stomping percussion, and a gritty dubstep bassline colliding like clashing swords in a dark age duel.

The promo material doubles down on the theme too – chainmail armor, cloaks, brass instruments, DJ controllers, ultimately selling the archaic aesthetic.

For longtime fans of Willdabeast, this collab is a natural evolution of their horn-centric bass style. The duo is widely known for fusing live brass instrumentation with heavy electronic production, earning recognition in the bass music sphere one release and event at a time.

Recently and actively, Willdabeast has been supporting K+Lab‘s “K+Lab Waz Here” tour on the final stretch of his four U.S. stops (WA2, MT, MN) – to a roaring crowd, loving the beastly energy of the wild performance.

Pair that symphonic sound with Dysphemic‘s gritty bass music sensibilities and underground dubstep pedigree, and you get a Colloseum-sized soundscape that’s forged for chaos.

“Together, we will elevate our collective experience, forging a path that promises to be as inspiring as it is transformative.”
