Claybrook Celebrates 20,000 SoundCloud Followers With Seismic New Skengtype Anthem ‘20K’

Birmingham, UK-based electronic bass music producer Claybrook is celebrating the much-awaited milestone of surpassing twenty-thousand (20K) followers on SoundCloud (SC) with the release of his self-dubbed subgenre called ‘skengtype‘ tune ever-so-eloquently named ‘20K‘.
In its 4:03 runtime, you can expect to hear basslines laced dubstep sound he is quickly becoming known for. This isn’t just a track, it’s a full-blown celebration of how far the rising talent has come, delivered in his aggressive, genre-fusing style.
Claybrook mentions:
“Having passed 20K Followers on SoundCloud, I wanted to celebrate by wrapping up a track that I’ve had in its early stages for a hot minute. I posted a little WIP of the drop idea a couple of years back when it didn’t have an intro or build to support it. Builds have always been my least favorite part to work on in my music, so I think that’s why this one took so long to cross the finish line.
Claybrook goes on to say:
It’s still surreal seeing that many people following me on SoundCloud. I remember my first couple hundred so clearly. I think it’s more assurance that I don’t have to overthink my work and proof that people are here for whatever i’m doing for the most part. It’s good to be able to mix these Dubstep & Bassline styles under one project and just be me. I’m super grateful for everybody tapping in & You can expect to see more meshes of my Bassline & Dubstep styles in future.”
Currently represented by THG Agency, this rising talent shows the masses and music markets that he has found his sound and has sure backing from the best in the business.
True to his roots, ‘20K’ is drenched in Claybrook’s self-coined ‘skengtype’ sound – a powerful hybrid of UK bassline and classic dubstep that slaps with raw energy, grimy textures, and chest-rattling low-end frequencies. This style doesn’t just flirt with chaos – it dives in headfirst.

Comments on the SC upload from prominent names, platforms, and artists alike in the industry such as DMZ News, GAWM, Phocust, Akirah, MVRDA, Astaroth, and many others expressing their approval and compliments of the prowess at play.
Claybrook adds:
I’m so glad that it’s up and out now though. Since the soft teases, people haven’t stopped asking me if that one will release – and now I get to let it go for free!
It’s Bassline, but I call it ‘SKENGTYPE’ – This is because this particular style of bassline (with the dubstep hybrid sound design etc.) was birthed when I made ‘Skeng’ with Akeos & Hukae in 2021. Since then, the only track to match the style has been BIGGEN, which I released on Interval Audio. This would be the 3rd track of its kind from me. I want to continue building the discography of this style alongside the dubstep as they are so relatable to each other and all sound like Claybrook at the end of the day.
The track opens with eerie pads and menacing vocal chops, before dropping into a brutal wave of warped basslines and syncopated rhythms that blur the lines between traditional dubstep and the bassline underground.
‘Skengtype’ is more than a genre tag – it’s Claybrook’s artistic fingerprint, a sound that pulls from UK rave culture while introducing something genuinely fresh and aggressive to the modern dubstep arena. It’s fast, it’s filthy, and it hits with purpose.
With ‘20K’, Claybrook isn’t just thanking his fans – he’s making a statement. He’s proving that this fusion style he’s sculpting is here to stay and evolve. It’s a reminder that UK dubstep is far from stagnant, and artists like Claybrook are at the helm of the next wave.
If you’re looking to stay ahead of the curve, ‘20K’ is a must-listen. It’s the sound of a producer coming into his own, carving a niche, and letting the world know that the underground is alive, well, and getting louder.
Listen to ‘20K’ by Claybrook now on SoundCloud and experience skengtype in full force.
