CANOTO’s “Dismal” gets reimagined under the creative lens of California-based music producer STRVFE and the results are staggeringly pleasing. STRVFE has been at the helm of creating and releasing several noteworthy original tunes such as his installation on (Megalodon’s imprint label) Bypass Audio‘s debut compilation with “Override“, remixes, flips, VIPs, and bootlegs.
We chatted with STRVFE earlier this year and got his insights on how he chooses his remixes and flips (read here), but this one stands out as a unique choice for the budding artist. In his evergrowing discography, he has created variants of tunes by Skrillex, Must Die!, Frantik, and even David Guetta.
Now, CANOTO’s ‘Dismal’ joins the STRVFE roster as his newest piece of music he has manipulated and made his own. What fans, listeners, and our readers can look forward to is a wonky, bass-laden, and punchy take on the original.

Honestly, the creative process on this track was mostly experimenting with the sound design. Primarily not having stems, I just had to run the original song through a grain synth and start pulling out mangled pieces. That results in the dark, gritty, and rhythmic flip for the tune!
