Los Angeles-based bass music bad boy who goes by GunFight returns to our stormy skies bearing an absolutely damaging dubstep weapon titled “Hooligan“. A 3:14 run time of exhilaration, wonky basslines, and drum patterns that will leave you breathless.
We are still picking up the pieces from our initial listening experience, or what we like to call our first time in the firing line from GunFight’s all-out assault on the bass music masses with “Hooligan”.
From the get-go, GunFight masterfully invites listeners in via the 30+ second synthesized intro creating the bass-laden atmosphere for the rest of the track. Laced throughout the release are playfully comical pre-drop vocals that provoke oneself to put their dukes up… “Alright mate, you looking for a fight?”
GunFight does an exceptional job at balancing the bass, vocal installments, and all the faint elements you only hear at the second and third listens, all of which compile together cohesively as one danceable production.
After such wildly pleasing releases over the spring and summer months like Deccenary, Ride, Magic with Footwurk, and Salvo, – GunFight adds another sonic installation to his fiery discography to rage to. If you haven’t gotten down to his previous works, you need to catch up and lend him your ear.
