Please welcome, Grimmire to the ever-growing storm!

Q1: Welcome to the storm! We are pumped to have you!
What can you tell us about the origin story behind the current Grimmire mania?

A1: What can you tell us about the origin story behind the current Grimmire craze? Since being diagnosed with Autism (Asperger’s Syndrome) in the first grade back in 2005, I was bullied a lot in elementary and middle school for it, i was always the odd one out and I’ve always wanted to make music, especially wanting to be in a metal band! My first EDM Song I listened to was a D3C3MB3R (Now known as Chime) Remix of Internet Friends By Knife Party, So i wanted to Make something of that style. I Started out as DJ Sonic Beat in 2012 producing glitch hop, trap, old school complextro, bass house, etc. The first Dubstep Song i listened to during that time was Excision‘s Brutal and Crowd Control, Then I got into Destroid with Raise Your Fist and Annihilate for the heaviness of dubstep/Dnb. I was also a vocalist in a deathcore band I was in during my high school days. Then, I think it was in late 2018, I listened to a Code Pandorum track, it was “The Lovecraftian Horrors” and i was so amazed at this style of dubstep with the heaviness, the pan snares, the choirs, everything about it was just ungodly. So then I hopped on the deathstep genre production, but no one would take me seriously as dj sonic beat producing deathstep. So, I had to rebrand myself to Grimmire, was gonna do Grimoire but that would have been too cliche and cheesy, so instead of the o in Grimoire, I replaced it with another M and that’s how I got Grimmire!

Q2: How long have you been producing?

A2: I’ve Been Producing since 2012, only DAW i used before this year was FL Studios, Right now i’m using PreSonus Studio One 4

Q3: What is your favorite part about making music? And why is it your favorite?

A3: My favorite part about Music Production is that I get to unleash my creativity in my head and visualize it on my program and love other people supporting it and giving me feedback on them, it helps me to become a better deathstep producer, since I’m the only one in the Carolinas.

Q4: Remixes or originals? What do you like about each, and dislike about each!

A4: Remixes I like cause it shows the producer’s own version of whatever genre it may be for the original track. What I dislike about doing remixes sometimes is that I either have to make it the same key and try to remove vocals and instrumentals from the track to make it high quality. Sometimes it may come out great, sometimes it comes out like ass. but mostly, I love doing originals. Because, unlike remixes, I have more creative expansion in my inventory to make some bangers that will get people and the crowd headbanging and bass faces all around!

Q5: What has been the highest point in your career? Walk us through that moment of excitement!

A5: The Highest point in my career i would say is getting signed to Deathstar Cult Ltd., they are an amazing group of producers who i have high amounts of respect and talent for those awesome bros over there. Plus, I released a track over at Anti-Feel Records Called “WTF” and we are having a remix competition in the process, so be on the lookout for that, the other producers who are doing the remix including Isoteric, Syrup, Millgram, TORCH, etc. all have mad talent and its awesome how they have been taking my track and remixing it their own version and its amazing to feel great about!

Q6: What do you expect to gain from 2020 that you can benefit from in 2021?

A6: More label releases in the future and more collabs with the boys at Deathstar Cult!

Q7: You recently dropped your remix for BMTH “Obey” what went into that remix mentally? What about “Polyriddim”?

A7: I listened to the song “Obey” and I loved it! I have been a big fan of Bring Me The Horizon since Suicide Season days and I wanted to attempt to remix it and I though it came out pretty good, I wanted to make it that Grimmire heavy style!
The “Polyriddim ” Remix, where do I start with that? When I first listened to it, I loved the first part of the first drop, I was headbanging to it till it switched it up, then it just gave me weird vibes on it, so I thought I go on Studio One and try to make it my remix removing the weird parts and making it how I thought it should go in my head!

Q8: Whose in your radar as far as collabs go? What can you leak to us?

A8: I got going with so far or in the works are with FAEZER, Good Vs. Evil, Jazmin, etc, Most of the artists in Deathstar Cult, and I just landed a collaboration with a local rapper in my state for a track, including a music video soon!

Q9: Who do you see killing it these days? Give them a healthy shout-out!
