Returning to the stage, Monsoon Season alumni SVNXX (pronounced seven twenty) strikes again with a new heater of a track titled “New Me”. The single displays another side of SVNXX’s musical journey that I have yet to cover, and I’m beyond excited to dive into this one with you.
New Me begins with his signature vocal swell, accompanied by some synth stabs that pan beautifully around from ear to ear. Soon, a drum pattern introduces itself, setting the tone for what is about to come next. The intro and build create tension nicely as we are sent into a drop that reminds you of old-school Excision.
The basses and drums have that 2010 dubstep feel and I am all for it. The basses create chaos as the patterns rapidly change, and the only thing you can hold on to is that kick and snare pounding into your chest. The sub on this track is also perfectly blended into the mix, letting you feel it more so than hear it, which in my opinion is the best way to create a sub.
The second drop of “New Me” continues the chaotic mayhem we heard before, with some vocal swells keeping you in the same universe the intro created and established.
Overall, this tune is simple yet effective. It comes in, establishes dominance, and leaves before it overstays its welcome. To me, that is a very effective creative decision that was made by SVNXX.
SVNXX is quickly letting the audience know his signature sound, and it’s fun to follow along as they grow as an artist. Don’t forget to support the new release “New Me” at the links below, and to follow SVNXX on all platforms to watch the journey unfold!
