When do normally see Porter Robinson, Kendric Lamar, and ILLENIUM all in the same place? The Grammy’s, Top 40 Billboard, or just some up-and-coming producer’s remix radar via SoundCloud’s (SC) finest from a rising artist reigning from Colorado Springs, Colorado named Hope complex.?
We’d go with the latter… (wink wink)
You may have heard of them from our previous coverage of their latest two remixes, one of Krewella‘s 2011 hit jam “One Minute” and the anthemic Dillon Francis + G Eazy festival banger “Say Less”. Or had heard of them from their natural rise as a debut electronic dance music project from the underbelly of SC’s algorithm.
Either way – keep listening while we have your undivided attention. They have three more nostalgic and noteworthy remixes to show off – fresh off the press!
As for the projects at hand, we have fascinating and fun remixes of Porter Robinson’s “Something Comforting”, Kendrick Lamar’s “DNA”, and ILLENIUM’s “Starfall” – all of which have a new taste and tune structure.
hope complex. issues Porter Robinson‘s “Something Comforting” in a wildly captivating facelift that adds luster and brilliance to the original where you didn’t know it needed. We see Porter‘s worldwide phenomena soundscapes under a new creative lens, and the results are so memorable. You have to listen to it, today!
Kendrick Lamar‘s wildly popular radio hit “DNA” hits hard as is but now hope complex. amps up the energy – in turn creating a new banger for the masses to revel in. Hip-hop and EDM have never sounded so good together.
ILLENIUM’s ‘Starfall” rendezvous with a new remix from hope complex. for our cry-banging crowds and ones who like their bass music with a side of tissues and self-reflection. We love ILLENIUM’s music here in the storms of Monsoon Season so this is an extra special treat.
Up next, we see they just remixed Zeds Dead and JAUZ’s “SOS” – we’ll see you next time for our review of that remix! But until then, check out our interview below.

Let’s chat with hope complex.
Q1. Who is hope complex.?
A1: hope complex. is comfort in unfamiliarity Where you come to feel safe while you explore sounds and places you’ve never been. Where everything may not be what it seems on the surface.
Q2. Your recent releases have been remixes, is this a project we can expect only remixes or are there originals we can look forward to?
A2: For all of 2023 I will be releasing a remix every Friday. I fully intend on building an original catalogue and already have teased a few originals but want to stay the course with establishing my sound through songs people are already familiar with.
Q3. What do you look for in a track before remixing it?
A3: When I get the itch to remix a song it’s usually after I’ve heard it a thousand times and know every word and note. If it tugs hard enough and produces an emotional feeling in me, I usually find myself imagining how it would sound if it was made by my favorite artist. My main mantra is to emulate never imitate. Familiar in unfamiliarity.
Q4. What can we expect in the not-so-distant future?
A4: Coming up in September I have remixes from the likes of: GRiZ, Conro, Excsion, Space Laces, and Felix Snow
