Australia is widely known for their arid deserts, kangaroos, and drum n’ bass. The massive country is home to many gems, hidden and visible. One of those hidden gems is Jake Davies, or best known as ARTIFACT, a rising bass music producer from Sydney whose music is making waves, turning heads, and breaking necks.
This go-around, ARTIFACT, debuts on High Caliber Records with his all-new release single titled “FATEBRINGER” – a high-octane experimental riddim heavy-hitter for the masses to revel in.
“FATEBRINGER” brings listeners to ARTIFACT’s doorstep because of its exemplifying styles that personify his music under his creative lens. From start to finish, the imagination and intensity is felt. From the soft welcoming intro, the build-up bearing synths reminiscent of those 80’s vibes, to the contemporary freeform soundscapes, this beat is fresh and forward thinking.
ARTIFACT tells us in a previous interview – “Basically, I add lots and lots of effects to my sounds to the point where my computer cannot handle it any more” and we can see and feel that creative process in this new release from him.
The layering of elements is top notch, wonky sounds immediately capitivate listeners, and sound usages all play cohesively and compliment each other so well. ARTIFACT has his sound design dialed down and it’s apparent in “FATEBRINGER” on High Caliber Records.
While we are still binging on his latest releases of Benny Benassi ft. Gary Go‘s “Cinema” flip, and “You And I” on Excision’s Subsidia Records’ Dawn 7 compilation, but we can find room to blast this new tune “FATEBRINGER” on the loud speakers.
