Let’s Chat w/ Zeuz
Q1: Take us back to the beginning, Zeuz. What made you want to start making and performing music?
Zeuz: Music has been a part of my life since childhood. I loved performing arts and instruments and knew I had to have music as part of my life forever. I have always felt that I am here to give back and impact people’s lives, but I wasn’t sure where to start. It all came together after attending my first show and discovering this new world of community and family around music. That day, I realized that I could create music that would impact people’s lives while living out my dreams and passions.

Q2: What was that moment like when you first stepped on stage as ZEUZ and you knew that this was where you were meant to be?
Zeuz: The first moment I ever stepped on stage as Zeuz felt absolutely surreal. Despite being a little nervous about not messing up, I couldn’t stop thinking about the fact that not too long ago, I was standing where a lot of my friends and family were standing, supporting me and dreaming of the day I would be able to do it myself. Seeing it unfold before my eyes, along with the astonishing support and love from all my friends and loved ones, was truly a core memory for me.

Q3: Phoenix Lights Music Festival is one of Arizona‘s largest and wildest events. How does it feel to be included on such a massive stage with so much talent?
Zeuz: Phoenix Lights is an awesome event that holds a special place in my heart as I have always loved the theme and vibe. Thinking of attending this year as an artist and playing alongside some of the artists that have inspired and motivated me to get to this point is really unbelievable. I feel very honored and blessed to have the opportunity to perform at such a massive stage with so much talent.
Q4: What can fans expect from this set that may differ from performances before?
Zeuz: For the most part, I try to create an all-original opening song for all of my sets. This set will be no different in that sense, but it will also include other originals from myself as well as some unreleased IDs from friends and a genre-warping set selection to keep you on your toes while having a good time and breaking your neck all in one.

Q5: Who or what inspires you?
Zeuz: I draw inspiration from my purpose of impacting as many people’s lives as I possibly can. Creating the most genuine and impactful music will ultimately have the biggest outreach and impact on the lives of others. Although mindset is a huge motivator, I would not have been able to attain this mindset without the mentors and guides in my life that have shown and taught me many invaluable lessons.
Q6: Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Give us a snapshot into that utopian 2028 timeline!
Zeuz: In five years, my goal is to go on tour and play at some of the largest festivals such as Lost Lands, Ultra, and so on. Additionally, I plan on throwing a new and immersive “Greek Mythology” event experience where I will be playing a unique live audio/visual set that has never been done before. This will also allow me to create a platform to shine a light on and support smaller up-and-coming artists, as I currently am.
Q6: What’s next for Zeuz?
Zeuz: As I grow as a producer and artist, I will continue to find and cultivate my sound while playing shows on occasion. The next big step after that will be my first label release and work on scheduling an EP timeline.
