Let’s Chat w/ Arriel
Q1: Your set to play Mayhem Events’ “St. Patricks Day” event on 3/17 on the Four Leaf Clover Stage. How excited are you to not only play this event but play an event with multiple themed stages on such a fun holiday?
Arriel: “I’m thrilled to be playing this event. The Mayhem Events are really something special. It’s almost like a festival inside of a building. They really know how to throw a party. I’m beyond blessed to be a part of this. Small stages are fun and intimate which is great but I’m stoked to be on a main-stage for this event. The breathing room is something I’m stoked for!”
Q2: What can fans expect from your set that may differ from performances before?
Arriel: “I run with a lot of bass heads because that’s who I started my DJ career with, but I’m an open format DJ who happens to also make dubstep and trap. But to be able to not be confined to only dubstep is something I’m really looking forward to. This is my first event to be booked as an open format artist and I’m going to take full advantage of it. The way I see it, genres don’t make the artist but the music does. So I’m going to have a lot of fun with this one.”

Q3: Los Angeles is home to some of the nation’s wildest parties and events without question. What are some of your favorite qualities of LA’s scene that other areas simply can’t touch?
Arriel: “Man… LA is something else. Even if there’s a curfew, LA parties don’t sleep. There’s always something happening every night at all hours. Los Angeles will never lose sight of the underground and that’s an amazing thing to me. You can find events happening at the most interesting and unheard of spots and it’s truly special. I have been raving since I was a teen and while the rave seen has changed, the LA underground hasn’t and I’m happy to call this place my home.”
Q4: Your recent releases ‘Beat Drop‘ and ‘Lose Control‘ have been knockout tracks for us here in the storm, what can fans expect next from Arriel or maybe sneak peeks at the event? How many new songs can we expect to hear on 3/17?
Arriel: “Aye! That really means a lot. I sincerely appreciate the support on those! You can expect to hear 4 unreleased tracks of mine, a few from the homies and a grip of my own edits. I’m really looking forward to rinsing some unreleased tunes for this event.”
Q5: What can we look forward to from you that fans, listeners, and readers can get excited about? New events, new music, and/or new collabs?
Arriel: “I have been working really hard on exploring new ideas and curating a sound that I can really call my own. So you can expect some fresh cuts this year that may sound more melodic. I’m also working on adapting some of my favorite emo and rock arrangements into my music. I’m exploring creating my own drum loops on the kit in the studio to combine my days of being in bands to being an EDM dude. Admittedly, I really miss being in a band so any chance I can get to combine my love for drums and guitar into my productions is really what I want to do.”
“My dude Wynde-Up and I have a collab with a really cool feature on it. I don’t know how much I can give away but it’s melodic, it’s pretty and heavy and I’m really stoked on it. You can certainly expect a release sometime this year… or just come out to the show to hear it first”
