[Interview: TRVCY]
Q1: For our readers and your soon-to-be fans, who is TRVCY? Take us back to the beginning, will you? Where do you trace it all back to?
A1: I used to make music under a different alias until 2018 when I changed my name to TRVCY. I started “producing” around 2012 after my sister showed me a Skrillex song and I was completely shocked. Never heard something like that before so I was super curious about it.
I say “producing” because at first, it was just a hobby until 2015 when I started to take it more seriously and putting hours and hours into it.
Q2: Down The Rabbit Hole is closer than it is far. What can we expect from your set and performance? Anything over-the-top planned?
A2: Honestly I didn’t plan anything that much, I just tried to finish as many playable IDs as possible and showcase some of the stuff I’ve been working on, but expect a lot of unreleased stuff from my incredibly talented friends and of course, some of mine.
Q3: 2021 is a new, fresh, and much-needed restart for lots of folks. How do you plan to make this year that much more impressionable for your fans across the globe?
A3: As you said in this question, it’s a fresh start and that’s the most exciting part. I don’t have anything planned, but I’m starting to develop my brand and my “image” a lot more since I feel that’s something KEY to making your art stand out and be completely unique. I also wanna start putting out some educational content as well, such as streams, youtube videos, etc., and right now my mind is full of ideas and projects I wanna execute but to just make it short, let’s say I wanna make this year a great year.
Q4: WATCH THIS is one of our most listened to songs here at Monsoon Season. What went into that track, creatively? What sort of mental/headspace did you lock into when making that masterpiece?
A4: 90% of my projects are me trying and failing until something works out, to be honest, so I guess that was my mindset while working on “Watch This“. But something I always wanna keep in my tunes is a decent balance between something melodic or “musical” and then turn it into something super aggressive when it drops. I feel like those energy changes throughout the entire track are a lot more enjoyable than just completely black or completely white if that makes sense.
Q5: Who is on your radar right now? Give them a healthy TRVCY shout out!
A5: Shout out to all my closest friends, family, and girlfriend, shout out my friends from the boyz discord (you can find a lot of their new material in this DTRH mix).
Shout out to my good friend Juan who’s always making amazing art and also pushing me forward to keep going and helping me out with this project I have in mind.
Shout out Flatland Funk for always supporting me and inviting me to this event, and shout out to you guys for this interview, appreciate it a lot!
And also, shout out everyone having a hard time man, I know last year caught everyone off guard and people are still recovering from that, keep it up everyone, you can do it
