Q1: Welcome to our storm! For our readers and newly gained soon-to-be fans, who is Drizz? Briefly walk us through your origin story and decision to choose your name!

A1: Thanks for having me! DRIZZ is a project I started about 5 or 6 years ago with the intention of having melodic and heavy sounds blend. The name is pretty random, I think I mainly liked how it sounded and looked on paper.

Q2: Being a Texas resident must have bigger benefits in regard to music. What has been most constructive to you in The Lone Star State?

A2: I actually moved out here about 8 years ago from Escondido, California solely for the advantages in the night music scene and it’s been very fruitful so far. I started out playing huge shows for RealMusic Events and for Oh Bleep! and then with Full Grind Entertainment and other local promoters until I got to where I am now with Mark My Words (formerly known as “Good Vibes.”)

Q3: You just released your collaborative works, ‘Adrenaline‘ with DRONE. Walk us through that synergistic sound ya’ll choose and the creative processes you called upon for the track.

A3: I started out the track back at the beginning of quarantine and sent it around to a few friends and DRONE really seemed to dig it so he just started going at it. We sent it back and forth a few times but he ended up polishing it off in the end and doing a great job mastering it. Super fun track overall.

Q4: What can your fans expect for the rest of 2020? What about anticipate for 2021?

A4: Currently locking down the release date for a collab with my homie RAGE-BOT on Biophaze Records and I still have a handful of tracks I need to put up before the New Year so expect at least a few new ones before the end of December! 2021 is going to be a great year. I can see it for myself and all of my boys here on Veridian.

Q5: Who do you see killing it in your area and beyond? Give them a shout-out!

A5: All the homies on Veridian, including MELTD, PURE STATIC as well as DRONE, SORA, STEEZ, PROSECUTE, LAZY K. GRINN; I know I’m missing plenty, but I see yall!
