Hot Out The Oven Records serves up a serious side of future-bass with ALKM3‘s freshest beat off the press. We are thrilled this was one of the ending tracks of 2020 as this was a breath of fresh air after the breathlessness of the year. Keep all posts on the watch for ALKM3 as this Texan producer has a worldwide vision.

Welcome to our downpour! We are excited to see another Texan on the blog, as always! Glad to have you with us!

Q1: Walk us through who you are briefly and how you came up with your name, ALKM3. Our audience and your new soon-to-be fans would love to know!

A1: The name ALKM3 (pronounced Alchemy in case anyone was wondering) was inspired by a favorite anime of mine called Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood.  I really enjoy the idea of alchemy and its definition: “a seemingly magical process of transformation, creation, or combination.” As a producer, I can I say that making music is basically alchemy in a sense. We create something magical, giving off a certain feeling or vibe, that resonates out into the world for all to hear.

Q2: Let’s dive into ‘One Love’, shall we? What sort of creative processes did you call upon for this release?

A2: So ‘One Love’ started out as a really simple melody and drums without any vocals. I was honestly just trying to finish it as an assignment to turn in while studying online for Icon Collective. During that time, I was actually in quarantine and really missing festivals, especially EDC. I opened my MacBook back up and started finishing some projects with my extra time. ‘One Love’ was one of the first ones I finished rather quickly. I found the vocal stems in an old folder and knew exactly what I wanted to do. I wanted to create a song that gave off positive, good vibes and brings people together. We all could use that after all this year has put us through. I really hope with ‘One Love’ I captured this for the EDM community.

Q3: In what ways has 2020 been advantageous to your career leading up to your freshest Hot Out The Oven Records Release; ‘One Love‘?

A3: 2020 has allowed me the time to finally finish a lot of music but also step back from the shows to focus on myself and my mental health. I’ve had a lot more time to focus on what I really love and make the commitment to attend Icon Collective. This year I was able to break out of my shell more and build the confidence to share my music more. I figured this is the best time to try to break out of the underground and let the world know I’m here.

Q4: How does ‘One Love‘ differ from your other tracks in your plethora of tunes? What makes this one more unique than the rest?

A4: This track came from a very special place in my heart and I wrote this song from the great memories I had when I was in love. ‘One Love’  is definitely more upbeat and the lyrics just make you want to sing along. It is a great follow-up from my last EP, Love Ties, and continues down the path of Future Bass. ‘One Love’ is very much about being in love and finding that special someone you resonate with while some of my other songs follow a different path and some darker emotions. This track will my best out so far and is only the beginning of what is to come later.

Q5: What can we expect from you in 2021 in regards to music and more?

A5: You can expect so much more music from me and possibly another EP. I also hope to get back to doing live shows again on even bigger stages. I mainly just want to see all your beautiful faces again, smiling and enjoying my music.

Q6: Who is on your radar for up and coming talent in your area? Give those people a shout-out!

A6: I’ve been heavily following the Baked Dozen artists, of course! These artists keeping raising the bar and making moves. In my area, it’s hard to tell which of the homies are busy making music, but D.G.M. and Phix are making some real bangers though. Big A is also coming up in the DJ scene and I couldn’t be more proud.
