Rising bass music producer and up-and-coming podcaster Lizzy Jane has finally arrived on my list of artists to cover! I have been a massive fan for a few years now, and I never miss an episode of her podcast! When I saw she was beginning to tease what is now known to be a 7-track EP, I felt it was the perfect time to reach out and see what we could do to assist.

Presenting her debut EP titled “Ignite”, we begin to explore this musical journey with the first single, ‘Washed Away’ OUT NOW on Dome of Doom Records!!!

‘Washed Away’ tells a deep story “that was written to express a time of feeling voiceless, lost, uncertain and looking for a way out…. A way to feel heard and valued”

– Lizzy Jane regarding Washed Away.

WASHED AWAY

Washed Away opens with a percussive drum pattern that has this taste of dustiness applied to it. It almost has this vinyl scratchy-like sound applied to create this atmospheric vibe. Shining through the mix of sounds are scattered piano notes, soon accompanied by Lizzy Jane’s vocal work.

When these piano notes collide with the vocal lines displayed here, we as the listeners become entranced to know what is next in the story. This intro is simple yet effective, and that is what makes it so memorable and what helps it get stuck in your head.

Right before the drop, we get this beautifully sinister vocal line that yells, yet also sings to you “Washed Away”.

“When you keep doing the same thing, expecting a different result – that is the definition of insanity, that is the definition of feeling ‘Washed Away’.”

– Lizzy Jane regarding Washed Away

When the drop rolls in, it instantly hits you with overwhelming emotion. I immediately noticed that the kick and snare weren’t completely smashing through in the mix, and I truly loved this. These drums blend seamlessly together with the higher-pitched synths, and together they create a melodic rhythm that is perfect for you to sit back and absorb.

Placed throughout the drop, there are these vocal screams and phrases that each time they happen, you can feel the raw emotion in Lizzy Jane‘s voice, and it creates these powerful moments that force you to embrace what is in front of you. Truly beautiful.

This drop is a perfect blend of beauty, accompanied by pure madness and aggression with the bass stabs created.

The second drop brings more hype and a groovy pattern with the main synth used prior, and quite honestly I feel like this is a genius setup for the end of the track where we get these stutter-like effects on all of the instruments, creating total madness as a conclusion to this chapter of the story presented in “Ignite”.

Lizzy Jane’s years of experience finally are showcased in this hit single Washed Away which hit Dome of Doom Records and is ready for your consumption.

Sit back and enjoy the first presented chapter in this 7-track EP and truly let yourself absorb the contents in front of you, I promise you will not regret it.
