Underground talent is Koopas coming from a small town in Texas has led him to pursue bigger goals in the infamous city of LA. He quite literally dropped everything from his salary paying job, pursuing a job in Marketing and Philosophy to now focusing on strictly producing music.
Texas has a huge EDM community but his town was close to nonexistent. The closest thing he had to the music was going to the next biggest town called Amarillo, a local club that played house music. Attending college in Oklahoma where they “Shape you to become a man” is where he learned to be apart of a community since he was an only child.
One of his frat brothers piqued his already growing interest in the music by showing him his DJ board, the very next day he went to go buy one and that’s when his path started to shape itself. Moving from a small town to a busy city is scary in itself but Koopas had his traditional family’s support fully.
Who is Koopas and how did the name come to be? Like all producers choosing a name was hard and he had no name in the beginning, his choice of the name came to him when he was playing a Mario game. He died by a Koopa Troopa and decided the name suited him.
Koopas is known as a ‘riddim kid’ who enjoys making music with anything that “make[s] weird sounds” Anything with a bass he’s on it particularly Kayzo and Getter. Koopas also plays a part of Underground, they are not a label but “A group of guys that actually enjoy the presence of each other and make music together and push each other”, in small words could be said ‘a collective’.
2016 was when he released his first track ‘New Nightmare’ which was a house song and no longer on his SoundCloud. Progressing 6 years later in his music career Koopas has released his newest song ‘Unknown Star’ a bouncy ‘drippy’ riddim with a gamer feel to it, It dropped January 1st with Sick Mvsic Records.
His track ‘Show Me How (VIP)’ a collab with Bustic is reaching close to 2k listens already. His track opens up with the feels that tug at your heart with a drop that explodes with bass leading to a steady riddim bass that concludes back to the melody of the song ending with a melodic drop.
