Now, let’s talk about ‘Classic V Future’ – the star of the article and how each track holds it down as their newest addition to the Birthdayy Partyy repertoire.
1. Revival (feat. Jenni Rudolph)
2. Classic V Future
3. Handle Ya Business (feat. Dread MC)
4. Let Go (feat. LeSage.Williams)
The first track on the ‘Classic V Future’ extended play is “Revival” featuring Jenni Rudolph. The track percolates magical and ethereal vibes as it pops off as a bass house banger.
The vocals she provides are soft and impressionable and then Birthdayy Partyy stokes the flames with their bouncy and energetic sound usage to amplify the electricity. Such a powerful original to start the EP off.
Second on the EP is the flagship track “Classic V Future“, a divergent and stellar juxtaposition of the “classics” and the “future” of where dance music was and where it is now.
Utilizing deep basslines and headbanging drops to ascend this original into a one-of-a-kind bracket of its own.
Birthdayy Partyy peppers the track with manipulated synths and vocal imprints of several variations.
Backed by gripping waves of high and low frequency soundscapes, the track is a powerful iteration of the future and leaving a lasting multisensory apprehension unto the listener.
Third up on the EP is “Handle Ya Business” featuring the UK-based hip-hop work of Dread MC, a vastly dynamic and zestful take on Drum & Bass.
Making great use of cavernous basslines and orchestral soundscapes to contrast and compliment both elements, Birthdayy Partyy really showcases their dexterity and skillsets in the genre-bending reiteration of DnB.
This track grapples the listener and puts vibrant energy as the forefront factor to the ‘Classic V Future’ EP.
Finalizing the EP is “Let Go” featuring LeSage.Williams harbors tantalizing feels as a tech house variant.
From the atmospheric and classic house sounds to the contemporary vocals from LeSage.Williams, the collective combination of the two come together cohesively for a experience that’s reminiscent of a night on the town with the windows down.
Throughout its entirety the monumental delivery of bouncy and lively hits from the bass keep you locked in from start to finish. A mixture of grace and vivaciousness sends this finale to the EP as a surefire knockout and a true spectacle in sound.
Words from Birthdayy Partyy:
“This is the first EP from the project, celebrating 5 years since we launched. It’s both a reflection back on how much we’ve grown as artists and people in that time, as well as a vision of what’s to come in the future from us. We feel like we’re just getting started.”
