‘DREAM TUNNEL’ [EP]

Georgia-based WYTE WØLF transports us into his ‘Dream Tunnel’ via the famed and wildly successful Recall Records of the larger parent group – Recall Network. A “Narrative Driven Bass Visions“- centric home and record label for electronic music that was founded in 2016 which is owned and operated by Wesley Collins. Dream Tunnel has gone off to a dream label and deservingly so.

The EP, is a true transcendence from the human waking life to the more lucid-like dream state where the listener can dive deep into this audio-inception. A metaphorical departure of reality and into the mind of WYTE WØLF

In just a matter of days, the six-track extended play titled ‘Dream Tunnel’ has been streamed tens of thousands of times, being heard by the masses in droves, as it should be. On repeat, over and over, implementing its message of blissful beauty in bass music.

As of late, WYTE WØLF has really made his mark in his region and locale. Hitting it off strong at Imagine Music Festival, taking the CAMP ATL Renegade set (at Imagine) to another dimension for the evening. Giving the crowd exactly what they didn’t know they wanted. Their reaction was priceless.

In addition to his explosive set in Georgia, the rising talent has been heating up with supporting touring acts in Atlanta at the nightclubs and events, scoring interviews, acquiring a booking agent, and gaining notice of music bloggers alike. We can see an upward ascending trend here for the bass music producer creating his own tributary, mastering his craft.

DREAM TUNNEL [w/ SHIELDS]

Dream Tunnel starts the EP off as the flagship track, introducing us into the alternate reality, WYTE WOLF and Shields have created.
Starting off quite intricately and artistically, the two producers utilize a manipulated female vocal to chop up and create a heartfelt yet distorted chant.
Then, as the build grows in intensity, the first two drops are an absolute cosmic alignment of brutal bass and intense technological sound design. A wild ride from start to finish. Such a knockout collaboration of the two.

Welcome to the Dream Tunnel. Within this digital environment, your conscience will be allowed to freely interact and manipulate sonic frequencies beyond the human hearing range. Matter is irrelevant in this domain, as you will have merged your soul with the very fabric of spacetime itself. Proceed with caution.

CØNTAINMENT BREACH

WYTE WOLF wastes no time keeping the energy alive and strong in to the second track of the EP. The soft intro gives off the feeling that this is going to be more of melodic adventure, but boy, were we wrong.

This solo creation hits all the bells and whistles of a standout and room-shaking production. From the get go – the electricity and hair-raising drops are exactly what we expect from a top tier track like this. An ultra-textured and highly detailed creation from the WOLF, himself.

FLAME CONTRØL

When melodically and gracefully delivered lyrics meet dark and ominous soundscapes the end-results are usually incredible in respects to bass music and dubstep, alone. FLAME CONTRØL is exactly that illustrious and alluring combination of the two additives.

From the serene highs and belts from the lyrics to the high-energy and gut-wrenching bass fold into one another, creating a cohesive unit, it is just magical to hear it unfold in real time.

CØDEX [w/AEYE]

Sometimes music and tracks respectively need to come with warning labels. Whether they’re addictive or just outright mind-blowing, – a warning would be ideal. CØDEX should probably bare such signage.

What a wild and otherworldly escape from reality and drop off to another universe in sound. This collaborative piece spans the spectrum of varied subgenres of bass music with touches of electro. A brilliant and spine-tingling iteration on the upbeat side of today’s take on bass music.

CØDEX is another must hear track on the EP. The style and creativity in this production stands as astounding in my book. I cannot wait to press replay, already. 10/10, a highly recommended for folks who like their bass music with a side of heart-racing energy that isn’t quite basshouse or midtempo.

WILLPØWER

WYTE WØLF creates another solo-venture in the EP with WILLPOWER and it is stacked with emotive soundscapes and lucid beams of danceable moments to keep this electrifying energy going. Immediately, the track begins to unfold in an effortless manner, building its structure with the use of the the manipulated vocals.

Then, all hell breaks loose and we see WYTE WØLF going in with the intensity of his drops and growls. This is a track way ahead of its time. A treat from start to finish, every time I press replay!

ULTIMATUM [w/ Crystal Sirens]

As an insane send-off to the EP, ULTIMATUM, a collaboration with Crystal Sirens; closes out the Dream Tunnel as we make a recourse back to the waking life. “How Can I Tell You” loops over and over in the beginning to set in the fact its a heartfelt delivery of emotional art from the two producers. Then, once it drops you know these two aren’t messing around. The highly-detailed sounds and larger-than-life hits of bass are impeccable and tantalizing on the ear.

In the face of this climactic showdown, only one can remain. And so, the ultimate question arises…

The year is 2530. A young, passionate sonic engineer lives in a mid-level metropolis in what used to be the Northeast United States. He has spent the last decade of his life creating a virtual reality immersion machine which would fuse his mind within the fabric of spacetime and allow him to access the frequencies vibrating all around him.

If successful, he would literally be able to manifest music at the speed of thought. However, the experiment goes terribly wrong…and he awakens a dark entity far beyond his control.
This EP explores the hero’s journey in an exciting and adventurous way, imbuing a modernized dubstep sound with melodic scapes to create the ultimate cinematic saga. Plug in, sit back…and prepare yourself to enter the Dream Tunnel.
